Purpose of this Blog.

I have created this Blog with the sole intention of finding fellow astronomers in our country. This hobby is universal. The moments observed viewing faint and distant objects, many light years away, bring joy to our soul. The language is universal. The sights we see is what each and every human being on our planet may perhaps have seen or should see one day.

If you own a telescope or even a pair of good binoculars, there are thousands of objects like Globular clusters / Nebulae / Galaxies which one can discern. Even watching the Moon in itself is a feast for your eyes. Imagine close up views of our closest celestial neighbour? Imagine your "eye" looking through a much more sensitive instrument like a telescope's eyepiece or even a simple binocular, giving you sights like the hundreds of craters on the moon, it's mountains, riles. Imagine seeing Saturn and its rings in all its glory.

These are possible, accessible and does not require an oversized wallet. This is a hobby which has enough wonders to keep you occupied for a lifetime, irrelevant of which field you are from.

I would like to share this Blog for the sole purpose of the astronomer in you to begin fathoming this hugely rewarding hobby, traversing the many galaxies and celestial objects on view. I would like you folks to help me enhance this website, just as you would your own, with visuals and description of the heavenly wonders, under starry nights.

I invite fellow astronomers across my country to share their thoughts and if possible, images taken. I am myself a beginner in this hobby and never tried my hands yet on real astrophotography other than take some simple images of the Moon, Planets and a few deep space objects. Some of these images can be found here.

For more professionally taken pictures, you can visit the website www.indianastronomer.net and view the many images posted by members around the globe.
